What is SmartReadŽTechnology?
SmartRead technology uses the most sophisticated inflation and deflation method
in blood pressure monitoring today. It combines two systems, Fuzzy Logic Inflation
and Step Down Deflation.
- Fuzzy Logic Inflation:
Since blood pressure can change from moment to moment, it is difficult to
estimate, let alone know a person's exact systolic reading. Fuzzy Logic takes the
guesswork out of knowing. It determines the optimum cuff inflation level
(approximately 30 mmHg above the systolic pressure) regardless of limb circumference, and
automtically inflates the cuff to the proper level.
- Step Down Deflation:
Monitors with SmartRead technology have the added benefit of reading and sensing
the amount of pressure in the cuff. It enables the pressure to be released and
decreased through an electronic micro-valve at the standard optimum cuff deflation rate or
controlled rate of 3-4 mmHg at a time. During each interval, the pulse beat signals
the unit to open the valve while the deflation remains controlled.
